Active Membership
Each semester, we keep track of member activity which is used for several reasons. First and foremost, we send in an active member list to the College of Pharmacy at U of H. We also use points to determine who can run for officer, and even give out awards to outstanding members at the year-end banquet.
For information regarding the points system or to check current point status, please visit the Member Points page.

Meet the Officers!
President | Tu Nguyen

Welcome to PPA! My name is Tu Nguyen and I am ecstatic to be your President! After graduating from the Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management in 2008, I managed in hotel operations for two years. I was doing really well, but found myself unchallenged and not content with my line of work. I was servicing people’s needs, but I was not making a difference in their lives. PPA has given me great networking opportunities, and has provided direction, motivation, and the tools necessary to succeed in our shared path of pharmacy. My goal is to make you all better pharmacy school candidates and to create an enjoyable experience for everyone. I hope our actions will inspire you all to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, just as many have done for us. If you need anything, please do not hesitate to contact me. Let’s create some unforgettable memories this year! GO COOGS!
Vice President | Ferrari Wong

Hi guys! My name is Ferrari Wong. A proud Cougar, the University of Houston holds a special place in my heart. The first of my family to earn a university degree, I graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science earned through the Conrad N. Hilton School of Hotel and Restaurant Management. My journey, through university and life experiences, has allowed me to fully realize that my future lies in helping others. I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to serve as your vice-president.
Last year, I was greatly involved with the University of Houston Pre-Pharmacy Association; it has provided me with numerous
friendships and various opportunities. This is truly an organization that cares for its members and its community. As your Vice-President, I want to ensure all UHPPA members receive the same experience that I had and provide UHPPA with more volunteering and social events where you can meet other students with similar interests.
I hope to see you all this upcoming school year! I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you. If you have any questions regarding UHPPA, classes, or anything else, feel free to contact me and I will assist you to the best of my ability. I believe we can achieve great things within the school and within the community. Together we care, together we can!
Go COOGS!
Treasurer | Tino Zuniga
I’m a sophomore at U of H for the 2011-2012 year. I’m a pretty cool guy who likes to hang out with friends, play soccer, ice skate, laser tagging, dancing and every other things that make life interesting.I’ve learned that everything happens for a reason. I love to laugh and I have a great sense of humor. I love volunteering because I enjoy helping others and doing it for a certain cause. Sometimes life has it’s turns and whether it’s positive or negative, one has to appreciate living another day.
Secretary | Darwin Ta
Hi everyone! My name is Darwin Ta and I am this year’s Secretary for UHPPA. Currently, I am a junior and I am looking forward to applying for the pharmacy school at UH this year. Born here in Houston, I have been a Texan my entire life and absolutely love all of the diversity that we have in this great city. During my free time I love to cook, be with my family, try new things in Houston, and learn as much about pharmacy as I can. These last few years as an undergraduate have been tough, but joining UHPPA has really made it enjoyable because I was able to meet and surround myself with other pre-pharmacy students such as myself. I am so excited for everything we have planned this year for UHPPA, and if you have any questions feel free to ask me!
Historian | Jennifer Vo
My name is Jennifer Vo and I am the historian for the 2011 – 2012 school year. Originally, I was a transfer student and came to the University of Houston very unfamiliar with the campus and all that it encompassed. However, by joining PPA I was given the opportunity to expand my netwo
rking skills and meet many fellow students that share a common interest in the field of pharmacy. Just as I have, I hope everyone will take advantage of this great organization to not only learn more about pharmacy, but also build onto their social networks. Whenever I could be of any assistance, help me help you and do not hesitate to contact me. Let’s make it a great pre-pharmacy year together! Go coogs!
Public Relations | Patrick Pham

Hello! My name is Patrick Pham and I will be the public relations officer for the 2011-2012 school year. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas and I love the assorted and vast cultures we have. I also like how the field of pharmacy is so diverse. Joining PPA was one of the best decisions I made in my college career. It helped me meet so many people from different backgrounds trying to achieve the same goal. My plans this year are to help this organization grow and to establish an enjoyable and learning experience for all of our members. I am excited to share what I know as well as learn new things from everyone. I hope that together, we can make this year one of the most fun and memorable in UHPPA history!
Webmaster | Julienne Banan

Hey PPAers! Welcome to a new year at UHPPA!
My name is Julienne Banan, and I am happy to serve you as the 2011-2012 webmaster. I love designing, baking, and spoiling my pup, Siopao. Before I was lost and still unsure where I wanted to go in the medical field. One of my friends convinced me to join UHPPA, and I am very thankful I did! Since then, I have gained more exposure to the field of pharmacy and have my eyes set on being a clinical or centralized pharmacist at a reputable hospital. I encourage you to take what we have to offer so we can complete our journey to pharmacy school. Let’s have fun, meet new friends, and STUDY HARD!
